Continuing education is not only vital in an ever-changing industry, but it’s also mandatory for most architects.
How do I maintain licensure?
44 states require licensed architects to complete continuing education on a yearly, or bi-yearly basis. Non-compliance means loss of licensure. Each state requires different amounts of learning hours and course specifications. Most states require courses in Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW).
- Check your state’s continuing education requirements for completion.
- If you’re not sure how much continuing education you’ve already completed, contact your licensing board for more information.
How can I complete my continuing education?
It can seem daunting to find time in your busy schedule for CE but thankfully a variety of AIA-approved courses can be completed from the comfort of your home. Architects Training Institute’s courses are designed for busy professionals and certificates of completion can be printed immediately for your records and state submission. As an extra, we will submit AIA member continuing education to the AIA for you!
When is your state’s deadline?
The biggest mistake you can make is waiting until the last minute to finish your CE. Each state has strict deadlines for continuing education, and it’s important you do not miss them.
