Course Description
This course provides one-hour of advanced CE approved by the FBC that is required to renew your license. It covers a selection of changes to the 2023 edition of the Florida Building Code-Residential (FBC-R) from the 2020 edition, including codes affecting Wind Design, Stairways, Sun Control Structures, Flood-Resistant Construction, Exterior Coverings, Soffits, Roof Assemblies, and Residential Permanently Installed Standby Generators.
This course will help familiarize students with changes to the 2023 Florida Building Code, Residential.
By the end of this course students will:
- Be familiar with the transition from the Florida Building Code, Residential (2020) to the 8th Edition of the FBC-R (2023);
- Have an overview of changes to the residential energy code and direction on how to get more information;
- Apply the changes to FBC-R-2023 to their future practice;
- Be presented with some of the reasons for the changes, listed above; and
- Be provided links to the full code language of the 2023 FBC-R (and other ICC publications, when appropriate).
